Probus clubs can be found throughout the country. The idea grew out of The Rotary Organisation where a wish to establish something appropriate for retired members arose. Today there is no link to Rotary and all Probus clubs are independent of one another, pursuing their own agenda of activities.
The Probus Club of Cheltenham is there to provide camaraderie between like-minded retired professional and businessmen in Cheltenham. The meetings consist of morning tea/coffee, followed by a talk, by an invited speaker, on a topic of interest to the members. Members’ guests are most welcome to sample the atmosphere of our weekly get-togethers.
If you are interested in joining the Probus Club of Cheltenham please tell us via “Membership” and we will contact you
The Probus Club of Cheltenham was founded in May 1972. Our principal agenda is to meet every week to provide social contact and to be entertained by speakers presenting a variety of topics.
We meet from 9.45 for coffee, chat and biscuits, with the talks starting at 10.30 finishing around 11.30am every Thursday at The Stanton Suite, near the church and library in the centre of Charlton Kings, using up-to-date audio visual equipment
Details of our forthcoming speakers and their subjects can be seen by going to the Programme page.
Additionally we hold outings and functions (see Past Activities).
